BIO:

Hello! My name is Miles Pretlove and I am currently a junior at The University of Maine. I was born in New Haven, Connecticut, and raised a town away from there, in Orange. I lived there with my mother and father, as well as my two younger brothers. Before becoming a New Media student this semester, I was Biology major. My friends know me as a hard-working, fun loving jokester, and I try as best as I can to take that mentality toward everything that I do. Outside of school I spend most of my time outdoors. Activities such as snowboarding, hiking, or mountain biking are a huge passion of mine. My biggest creative passion, though, is to create music. I have been playing percussion instruments my whole life, and in the last few years also taught myself the guitar and bass. It is a goal of mine to complete at LEAST one full album in my lifetime.

Creative Statement:

When I was directed to the New Media program, I had no clue what to expect. Struggling through BIO, I finally decided that it was the time to get back to my passions. Music has always the most important part of my life, and finally it seemed somewhat realistic that I could make a career out of it. By learning all that NMD has to offer in the next few years, I hope to become a expert on digital audio and video. If I succeed, my plan is to produce music for other people. This will allow me to always be surrounded by this passion of mine, without the stress and uncertainty of being a struggling musician. Being creative is the best way to learn about oneself, and learning more about the way we as humans work is the key to further inspiration.
